Police arrested more than 100 people during a night of clashes with Occupy Oakland protesters throughout the city's downtown area.
The scene finally cleared after midnight Wednesday, but police were on alert in case crowds returned.
Oakland's interim police chief, Howard Jordan, said arrests were continuing and that the total number might rise. Eight-five of those arrests were made Tuesday night, when officers raided the Occupy Oakland encampment on Frank Ogawa Plaza at City Hall, along with an annex in a park near Lake Merritt.

Addressing thousands of his fans Saturday at the city's Poornima Theatre, where two trailers of the film were screened, Vijay said: " Velayutham is a special film for me. I have acted in many films which have been filled with commercial elements. You have liked my films for their quality in picturisation of songs and fights. But Velayutham is one film which is focused on a issue besides being packaged with lot of commercial elements."

Three characters stand out in this movie. Ra One (Arjun Rampal), G One (Shahrukh Khan) and young Armaan Verma who plays Prateek Subramaniam. Fans of Grand Theft Auto who have replayed the game a million times and unlocked every achievement in the game will be ecstatic to know that Rockstar Games has officially confirmed that there will be Grand Theft Auto 5. If you visit the company’s website now, you will be treated to a full page splash of the Grand Theft Auto 5 logo with the words “TRAILER 11.02.11″ underneath.
Besides the fact that the “5″ looks like it’s been taken from a fictional 5-dollar bill, we don’t have any clues to what the game is going to be about this time around. But I’m pretty sure we can expect more cars to jack, gangs to join, drugs to deal and money to earn. But until then, we’ll just have to wait for November 2nd to watch the trailer for the game. What are you hoping for in GTA5? Drop us a comment below to let us know.

If you own a sweater, or pencil skirt or pair of oxfords from J.Crew, you have already been acquainted with Jenna Lyons, even if you don't know her by name.
The creative director and president of J.Crew, who is currently going through a messy divorce, is credited with developing the retail behemoth's preppy-yet-offbeat aesthetic. In recent years, Lyons has become a style personality, the antidote to the Alexander McQueens and Lady Gagas of the world, known for mixing basics with the subtly quirky.

Hurricane Rina moved over the warm waters of the Caribbean on a track that will take the storm toward Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula resorts and away from the oil- rich regions of the Gulf of Mexico.
Rina’s top sustained winds were 105 miles (169 kilometers) per hour as it churned west-northwest at 3 mph, about 290 miles southeast of Tulum, Mexico, according to a U.S. National Hurricane Center advisory at 2 p.m. East Coast time.

It’s Shah Rukh Khan’s most ambitious film to date. Dare I say, a vanity project. RA.One, directed by Anubhav Sinha and produced by and starring Khan along with Kareena Kapoor, is now one of the most anticipated films of the year. And while Khan and his team have a well-oiled PR machine chugging aggressively to guarantee at least a thunderous opening this Diwali, we take a listen to its album by composer duo Vishal-Shekhar.
The makers of the album go for the no-holds-barred approach with the soundtrack – roping in an international star and buying the rights to a classic English song amongst other efforts – to deliver an album that bears the trademark Vishal-Shekhar peppiness. It’s a decent soundtrack but doesn’t fit the bill for a film mounted on such an extravagant scale, often falling into the trap of sounding gimmicky rather than grand.

Rangoli has always been a symbol of religious and cultural beliefs and is believed to ward off evil. But, the most important reason for decorating rangoli outside one's home, is to welcome Goddess Lakshmi.
Rangoli can be of two types - dry and wet. Dry rangoli is made with natural or chemical colors, flowers and petals. Wet rangoli is done with the help of paints.
The most common traditional rangoli designs are lotus, flowers, geometric shapes, swastiks and Oms. Rangolis have always been a part of the Hindu culture since ages and have their mark in ancient history. Free hand rangoli which was once popular in rural Gujarat, is now catching up in urban areas too. Sangeet Pradhan a housewife says, "I love to make rangolis with natural ingredients - kumkum and turmeric. I prefer making free hand rangolis as they are more innovative, and I can try different designs every day."

Justin Bieber may seem like a wholesome young man but that’s just part of his diabolical genius. Turns out that the teen pop star could be facing up to five years in prison, thanks to bill S.978.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, congress is currently debating bill S.978, which would make it a felony to stream unauthorized copyrighted material online. Violators of the potential new law could face five years in prison.

If the Texas Rangers go on to win their first World Series, Derek Holland’s pitching performance in a pivotal Game 4 will be one of the key reasons why.
In a series in which Rangers’ starters have struggled at times and been shelled at others, Holland was phenomenal in a near must-win game for Texas on Sunday night, going 8 1/3 innings without allowing a run in a 4-0 win.
The guy with a ridiculous mustache also seems to be keeping his teammates calm under pressure with some dugout silliness. During Monday night’s Game 5, Fox’s dull-as-a-lampshade duo of Joe Buck and Tim McCarver spruced up the monotony by letting Holland call the game from the Rangers dugout.

Even the people with the most (seemingly) charmed lives have their problems.
New York Post reports today on the unraveling mess of Jenna Lyons' divorce, as the J. Crew creative director split from her husband Vincent Mazeau this summer.
Lyons, who's beloved for her iconic high-low style, is currently in battle with her estranged husband over their fortune (which is substantial -- in 2009, Lyons received a bonus of $1 million) as well as their son, Beckett.

A dazzling aurora light show amazed skywatchers across North America, from Canada to Arkansas, and other northern regions Monday night (Oct. 24), painting the sky with striking green and even rare red hues.

As car launches go, it was neither wildly extravagant , nor unique. After all, launches are de rigueur in the run-up to the festive season, and Honda Siel's brand new baby, the 3.95-lakh Brio, was just one of four cars to hit Indian roads in the past 10 days. Yet, Brio is not just a car launch.
Brio's price was just one factor. Honda Siel, to be sure, never before aspired to be a volume player; it much preferred its association with status and luxury. (Honda has 99.9% stake in this company, the rest belongs to Siel.) But that was not all. There were significant departures from the Honda model - test drives for the media, in Vizag of all places, the focus on developing dealer network in Tier-II and Tier-III cities, the thrust on local sourcing, not just assembling . Says Seki Inaba, director (sales and marketing), Honda Siel Cars India: "We are betting on India to be the No. 1 car market in the world, ahead of China, in the future. Brio is the first step towards a shifting growth trajectory for us in India."

“The Bling Ring” premiered on Lifetime Monday night, three days after an accused member of the real life “Bling Ring” pleaded no contest to a burglary charge.
Rachel Lee, 21, a member of the “Bling Ring” pleaded no contest to the burglary charge on Friday. She is accused of breaking into reality TV star Audrina Patridge’s house, and taking $3 million worth of items from her pad. Lee is expected to be sentenced to four years in prison as part of a plea deal, according to reports.

Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Roddy White is expected to play against the Seattle Seahawks. White has been dealing with a quad injury all week and is listed as questionable on the injury report. Despite the questionable tag, there doesn't seem to be any concerns with White's availability. Last season White was listed as questionable for every single game, but played in all 16.
On the season White has 20 receptions for 224 yards and a touchdown, including 9 catches for 140 yards last week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. White should fare well against a Seahawks defense that's struggled all around. The Falcons will also be looking to bounce back from a tough loss against the Buccaneers. If White for some reason cannot go, look for rookie Julio Jones to build on his break out game last week and Harry Douglas to get some increased targets.
